Hope you are all well today. I have just had a very busy weekend full of performances, one of which I was able to sing with Middle Maggie in a fantastic funk and soul band. Tons of fun! I am recovering today by curling up with a blanket, hot chamomile tea, and one of my favorite magazines. The magazine, a Martha Stewart publication, used to be called body + soul but is now known as whole living. All of the issues are fantastic. I will today however,be revisiting an older issue but certainly a great one. In June 2010, the magazine did a fantastic issue on bicycling, blueberries, finding happiness, and more. What else could you ask for?!

Bake
Blueberry-Ricotta Tart

When I saw this photo in the June issue, I instantly wanted to make it...well eat it, really. But as my dad always says, "No cook, no eat!" So I followed his advice and made it and must say, it was a hit! Even some of my friends who aren't a big fans of blueberries were surprised how
much they enjoyed the tart. Aside from their cute demeanor, these tiny treasures are
packed with health benefits. They contain antioxidants, promote brain and heart health, support the immune system, and are shown to reduce belly fat. This issue had several great recipes for blueberries and other tasty treats. Visit whole living online for the full recipe! Yumm!
Cycle
"Just like riding a bike"

The June issue did a great article called, "Wheel Life" and discussed how the world is becoming more cycle-friendly and that this can be used as a main source exercise, transportation, and a way to save money and the earth, not to mention the fun you will have while doing so. Some of us might think that bike riding is only for kids. When I was a child I would get together with my neighborhood comrades and we would ride for hours. Sadly, I stopped riding for quite a while and can't believe what I was missing! Riding a bike now is just as fun as it was when I was a kid. I love it. Try it out during these beautiful fall days!

There are so many ways we can fill our hearts with happiness. These are just a few. Hope your heart smiles at several points in the next week. That's all for today. I have to get back to my reading! Hope you all have a joyous day.
Until we meet again,
MJ Mini
